MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship: The Institute for Advanced Chemistry of Catalonia (IQAC-CSIC) is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to apply for the MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship. MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship to Develop Ubiquitin-Independent Protein Degraders
Designation: Postdoctoral Researcher
Research Area: Development of ubiquitin-independent protein degraders to address HER2+ targeted therapy resistance in breast cancer.
Location: Institute for Advanced Chemistry of Catalonia (IQAC-CSIC), Spain
Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD thesis defended by the application deadline (11th September 2024).
- Maximum of 8 years of research experience from the date of PhD award. Exceptions apply for nationals or long-term residents of EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries.
- Must not have resided or carried out main activity in Spain for more than 12 months between 11th September 2021 and 11th September 2024.
- PhD in Chemistry (for computational design and synthesis of molecules) or in Biochemistry/Biology/Biomedicine or similar (for molecular biology and functional validation of molecules in cell models).
Job Description:
- Develop ubiquitin-independent protein degraders to overcome HER2+ targeted therapy resistance.
- Focus on achieving ubiquitin independent Protacs that directly interact with proteasomal-associated factors.
- Conduct computational design, chemical synthesis, and characterization of bioactive molecules, or molecular and cell biology studies.
- Expertise in 3D cell models will be valued.
- Contract duration: Minimum of 12 months and maximum of 24 months.
- Estimated annual gross salary: Stipulated by the MSCA-PF call.
- Target start date: April 2025 onwards.
