Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Essential:
    • PhD in relevant fields (Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Biology with computational/statistical experience)
    • Strong coding knowledge (R/Python)
    • Experience in analyzing -omics data (RNAseq, copy number, mutation, methylation, proteomics)
    • Expertise in machine learning/mathematical modeling
    • Interest in computational methods for biological problems
    • Ability to generate and pursue independent research ideas
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Dedication to reproducible research and open science
  • Desirable:
    • Foundational knowledge in Bioinformatics, Systems Biology
    • Knowledge in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science
    • Familiarity with software development and high-performance computing
    • Experience with machine learning frameworks (Pytorch/Tensorflow)
    • Mass spectrometry-based proteomics data analysis
    • Network-based analyses and software/resources
    • Single-cell data analysis
    • Experience in collaborative interdisciplinary environments

Job Description: The Luna Lab aims to advance cancer research and make biomedical data accessible. The successful candidate will:

  • Develop novel bioinformatic machine learning methodologies
  • Explore cancer-specific genomic, epigenetic, and metabolic alterations
  • Understand molecular mechanisms of drug response and resistance
  • Support clinical decision-making by analyzing cancer heterogeneity
  • Use pre-clinical models and patient datasets to identify biomarkers
  • Contribute to both basic and translational science objectives
