Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD or equivalent in a relevant field, or currently enrolled as a PhD student.
- Strong analytical skills and experience in mathematical statistics.
- Proficiency in English (both spoken and written).
- Desirable: Experience with Bayesian methods, scalable computation, high-dimensional models, and programming skills.
- Not eligible: Candidates with kinship to university board members or those enrolled in other degree programs or holding incompatible employment positions.
Job Description: The successful candidate will conduct research on the theoretical guarantees and limitations of scalable Bayesian methods, aiming to derive more accurate procedures for handling big data. Responsibilities include:
- Publishing research papers.
- Presenting work at conferences.
- Regular attendance at departmental seminars.
- Collaborating within the research project “BigBayesUQ” under the supervision of Prof. Botond Szabo.
