Postdoctoral in Microbial Ecology: Oak Ridge National Laboratory is currently seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join the Integrative Microbiomics Group in the Biosciences Division. This position will focus on research in the area of microbial ecology and metagenomics, with a specific emphasis on understanding the ecology of soil and plant-associated microbial communities and their responses to various environmental changes.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Ph.D. degree in microbiology, ecology, molecular biology, or related fields
  • Expertise in modern molecular ecology methods such as metagenome analyses, quantitative PCR, rRNA community sequence analyses, and field and laboratory methods for characterizing soil biogeochemical cycling processes
  • Proficiency in informatics approaches for amplicon microbiome and shotgun metagenomic studies
  • Track record of contributions to peer-reviewed publications

Job Description:

  • Design, conduct, analyze, and interpret laboratory and field-based research
  • Utilize state-of-the-art equipment/facilities for microbiology, molecular biology, ecosystem ecology, and genomics
  • Lead and contribute to the development of scientific manuscripts and presentations describing the results of research team studies
