Post-Doctoral Fellow in Organic Synthesis: The Laboratory of Chemical Biology at KU Leuven is seeking a motivated and skilled Post-Doctoral Fellow to join a multidisciplinary project in collaboration with several international institutions. The mission is to explore synaptic diversity and its impact on neuronal diseases using advanced chemical and biological techniques.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • Ph.D. degree in Chemistry or Chemical Biology
  • Experience with solution phase synthesis and purification methods
  • A strong interest in biochemistry
  • Experience in photoaffinity labeling and biochemistry techniques is advantageous but not mandatory
  • Excellent English communication skills
  • Ambitious, motivated, creative, and practically skillful

Job Description

  • Synthesize MALDI-tags and chemical probes for neuronal receptors
  • Isolate lipid nanodiscs from membranes and isolated synapses
  • Collaborate and interact with other post-docs within the international consortium
  • Report research findings and prepare manuscripts for publication
