Eligibility/Qualification:
- Non-German citizens
- Hold an outstanding master’s degree (MA, MSt, or MSc) or equivalent in fields such as Ancient History, Ancient Oriental Languages, Religious Studies, Roman Law, among others
- Must not have completed a PhD previously
- MA degree completion should not precede March 1, 2019
- Must not have continuously resided in Germany before December 1, 2023
Job Description:
The doctoral program “Ancient Languages and Texts” focuses on the written heritage of ancient cultures, including literary works, documentary texts, and phenomena of mediality. Applicants are expected to participate in Digital Humanities training offered by BerGSAS and have command of relevant ancient languages for their dissertation project.
