Job Description:
The project aims to explore how the unicellular parasite Trypanosoma brucei, which causes trypanosomiasis in sub-Saharan Africa, senses and reacts to its environment. The focus will be on producing a barcoded library of approximately one hundred gene deletions using CRISPR/Cas9 technology. These mutants will be tested in mouse infection experiments, and selected knockouts with strong phenotypes will be further analyzed by intravital microscopy. Responsibilities include:
- Conducting advanced molecular and cell biology experiments
- Producing and validating gene deletions in Trypanosoma brucei
- Analyzing data and interpreting results
- Collaborating with an international team of scientists
- Presenting research findings at national and international conferences
