Fully-Funded PhD Position in Operando X-ray Analysis of Next-Generation Batteries at Uppsala University

Designation: PhD Student in Operando X-ray Analysis of Next-Generation Batteries

Research Area: Energy storage devices and sustainable battery technologies.

Location: Uppsala, Sweden

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Second-cycle qualification or equivalent experience in relevant fields like computational chemistry, physics, or material science.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Not resided in Sweden for more than 12 months during the period 2021-08-30 to 2024-08-31 for work or studies as the main occupation.
  • Must qualify for a doctoral candidacy and show collaborative skills, drive, and independence.

Job Description:

  • Conduct cutting-edge research on operando X-ray analysis of batteries.
  • Perform simultaneous X-ray diffraction and absorption spectroscopy on various battery chemistries.
  • Develop and apply Python-based data analysis pipelines to extract correlated information.
  • Participate in research projects, publish articles, and present findings at international conferences.
  • Collaborate with national and international partners for research communication and feedback interpretation.
  • Attend project meetings, training schools, and specialized courses to enhance knowledge.
