Postdoctoral Research Scientist – Engineering Root Development

Designation: Postdoctoral Research Scientist

Research Area: Plant Biology, Molecular Biology, Synthetic Biology, Single-cell Sequencing, Root Architecture, Sustainable Agriculture

Location: Norwich, UK

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD/DPhil in biology, bioengineering, or biochemistry
  • Experience in plant development and molecular biology
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work productively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Interest in synthetic biology (prior experience not mandatory)

Job Description:

  • Elucidating lateral root development at high resolution via integrase-based trackers
  • Engineering root architecture via cell fate-specific integrase switches
  • Training in synthetic biology, plant biology, and single-cell sequencing
  • Mentor technicians and graduate students
  • Access to core skills training and all scientific facilities at the Earlham Institute
