2 Postdoctoral Fellowship: Are you passionate about advancing the field of gas sensors and printable semiconductors to contribute to a sustainable future? We are offering two Postdoctoral Fellowship positions focusing on the development of innovative multi-gas sensor platforms utilizing printable semiconductors for sustainability-focused applications.

Designation: Postdoctoral Fellow
Research Area: Printable Gas Sensors, Sustainability, Emerging Electronic Materials
Location: School of Sustainable Energy Engineering, Simon Fraser University, Canada

Eligibility/Qualification:

Position 1: Electrical/Electronic Engineering Background

  • PhD in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with a focus on electronics and sensor-based emerging electronic materials (e.g., organic semiconductors, carbon nanotubes, metal oxides, 2D semiconductors, and perovskites).
  • Proficiency and experience in circuit design and machine learning.
  • Demonstrated academic excellence with a cumulative GPA of 3.9/4.33 (or equivalent).
  • Excellent command of the English language.
  • Eligibility for a work permit for Canada if you are not a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Availability to start in January 2025.

Position 2: Materials Science and Engineering Background

  • PhD in Materials Science and Engineering, Nanotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or related disciplines with a focus on chemiresistive gas sensors based on emerging electronic materials.
  • Proficiency and experience in materials deposition, gas sensor fabrication, and characterization.
  • Demonstrated academic excellence with a cumulative GPA of 3.9/4.33 (or equivalent).
  • Excellent command of the English language.
  • Eligibility for a work permit for Canada if you are not a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Availability to start in January 2025.

Job Description:
The selected Postdoctoral Fellows will play a key role in an exciting research project aimed at developing advanced multi-gas sensor platforms. Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and characterizing gas sensors using emerging printable materials.
  • Engineering specialized signal acquisition front-end systems.
  • Applying machine learning techniques for data processing (for Position 1).
  • Focusing on materials deposition, fabrication, and characterization of gas sensors (for Position 2).

This research is integral to enhancing the capabilities of self-powered gas sensors, emphasizing sustainable applications.
