Research Associate – School of Computing: The School of Computing at the University of Kent is seeking a talented and motivated Research Associate to join our team. This individual will be embedded in the Programming Language and Systems group at Kent, undertaking novel research on programming languages, tools, and systems to support climate modeling and climate scientists. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work directly with leading climate scientists, developing new research ideas and collaborating with the Institute of Computing for Climate Science at the University of Cambridge.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, or similar (or nearing completion of)
- Experience in developing and executing research projects and writing papers
- Deep knowledge and experience in at least one of programming languages design, semantics, static analysis, or verification
- Good programming skills
Job Description:
As a Research Associate, your responsibilities will include:
- Developing new research ideas around programming language tools for climate science
- Executing research projects, involving implementation work to enable the idea to be tested in the real world for its potential impact
- Writing up results for publication and giving talks to disseminate results and ideas
- Working across disciplines to test out the outcomes of this research in the wild
