Research Area: The research group studies the neocortex, focusing on gene regulatory mechanisms in neural progenitor cells, neurogenesis, and neuron maturation.
Location: Dresden, Germany
Eligibility/Qualification:
- University and PhD degree in biology, genetics, neuroscience or related subject
- Experience in mouse genetics or organoid generation, single cell sequencing technologies, and bioinformatics skills
- Background in neurogenesis, stem cells, gene expression, and/or epigenetics
- Capable of autonomously leading a high-profile research project
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as organizational abilities
- Proficiency in English, both written and oral
Job Description:
- Independent, passionate, and motivated Postdoc to study the development and evolution of the neocortex
- Leading role in implementing single cell technologies and electrophysiological analysis
- Collaborative work within the international group, including collaborations with other institutes
- Contribution to teaching in epigenetics, stem cells, and neurobiology
- Supervision of rotation and thesis projects
- Continuous involvement in solving questions in neurodevelopment
