Postdoctoral Researcher in Organic Synthesis: The Fabio Julia group at the University of Murcia, Spain, is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Postdoctoral Researcher to join an exciting project on developing new methods for sustainable organic synthesis based on iron photocatalysis. The position is part of the EXCEL project, awarded an ERC Starting Grant. Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD (or near completion) in Chemistry
- Strong background in homogeneous catalysis, organic chemistry, or organometallic chemistry
- Experience in reaction optimization, organic synthesis, inert atmosphere techniques, or DFT calculations is preferred
- Problem-solving skills, independence, creativity, and a willingness to learn
- Good command of English (writing and speaking)
- Only European candidates are eligible due to the urgency of the incorporation date
Job Description:
The successful candidate will:
- Design and develop catalytic methodologies for organic synthesis
- Perform mechanistic studies using various techniques
- Synthesize organic substrates, products, inorganic complexes, and ligands
- Prepare reports, scientific manuscripts, and participate in literature searches
- Mentor PhD and MSc students and collaborate with academic and industrial partners
- Present research at scientific meetings and conferences
