Eligibility/Qualification:
For PhD Students:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, physics, or related fields
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to learn new skills and work in a collaborative environment
- Laboratory experience with microfluidics, flume experiments, or related engineering systems (preferred, but not required)
For Postdoctoral Scholar:
- PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering or related fields
- Prior research experience in fluid mechanics, biogeochemistry, or related areas
- Strong publication record demonstrating research accomplishments
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Demonstrated mentorship or teaching experience is a plus
Job Description:
The Environmental Transport Lab, led by Dr. Judy Q. Yang, focuses on studying the complex dynamics of water, particles, chemicals, and bacteria in diverse aquatic environments. Utilizing advanced experimental techniques such as flume and microfluidic studies, the lab investigates sediment transport, landscape evolution, contaminant and carbon movement in soil, and bacterial transport.
