Postdoctoral Researcher in Synthetic Biology:The ‘Synthetic Cell Programming’ lab, led by Dr. Santos-Moreno at University Pompeu Fabra (UPF), is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to engineer synthetic gene circuits in E. coli cells. The successful candidate will work on an ERC-funded project, “TICK-TOCK Do and Die”, to develop time-programmed gene circuits. This full-time postdoc position offers a contract of up to 4 years with a competitive salary, located at the Biomedical Research Park of Barcelona (PRBB).
Designation:
Postdoctoral Researcher
Research Area:
Synthetic Biology, Gene Circuit Engineering, CRISPRi
Location:
University Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona, Spain
Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in life sciences
- One or more first-author publications in peer-reviewed international journals
- Essential: Strong background in synthetic or molecular biology wet-lab work
- Highly desirable: Experience in designing or modeling gene circuits
- Desirable: Skills in bacterial cultivation, microfluidics, synthetic memory, or biocontainment
- High motivation, ability to work both independently and in teams, excellent organizational skills, and scientific rigor
