Research Associate / Postdoc in Epigenomics: The Center for Regenerative Therapies Dresden (CRTD) is seeking a motivated and independent Research Associate / Postdoc to join the Chair of Epigenomics of Neural Development under Prof. Dr. Mareike Albert. This position focuses on the development and evolution of the neocortex, with an emphasis on gene regulatory mechanisms in neural progenitor cells, neurogenesis, and neuron maturation.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • University and PhD degree in biology, genetics, neuroscience, or related subject.
  • Experience in mouse genetics or organoid generation.
  • Proficiency in single-cell sequencing technologies and bioinformatics, especially scRNA-seq data analysis.
  • Background in neurogenesis, stem cells, gene expression, and/or epigenetics.
  • Record of quality publications or preprints.
  • Excellent English communication skills (written and oral).
  • Strong interpersonal abilities and organizational skills.

Job Description:

The successful applicant will:

  • Take a lead role in studying neocortex development and evolution.
  • Implement single-cell technologies (scRNA-seq, CyTOF) and perform electrophysiological analyses.
  • Collaborate with various institutions including the Carl Gustav Carus Faculty of Medicine, Cluster of Excellence “Physics of Life”, and the Max Planck Institute for Cell Biology and Genetics.
  • Contribute to teaching in epigenetics, stem cells, and neurobiology, and supervise rotation and thesis projects.
