Eligibility/Qualification:
- Essential Skills and Experience:
- PhD in genomics/epigenomics/transcriptomics, evolutionary biology, (bio)statistics, machine learning or related fields.
- Experience with computational biology tools/databases, statistical data analysis, and coding in at least one programming language.
- Demonstrated interest in the biology of mutations and associated computational methodologies.
- Solid proficiency in written and spoken English.
- At least one first-author publication or preprint.
- Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Bioinformatics methods for genetic variant calling, mutational signature analysis, and evolutionary modeling.
- Knowledge of long-read sequencing analysis, neural networks, and genomic applications of AI.
- Proficiency in R or Python and related libraries.
- Interest in programming and algorithm development.
Job Description:
The selected candidate will work on the AI-DRIVERS project to develop and apply advanced AI models for identifying non-coding driver mutations in cancer genomes. This involves:
- Analyzing large-scale whole-genome sequencing datasets.
- Developing methodologies to accommodate heterogeneous mutation rates.
- Collaborating with experimental biologists to validate predictions using CRISPR techniques.
- Contributing to groundbreaking research with potential implications for personalized cancer medicine.
