Research Associate / Postdoc in Experimental Semiconductor Physics

Designation

Research Associate / Postdoc (m/f/x)

Research Area

Experimental Semiconductor Physics focusing on the fabrication and characterization of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) using novel solution-processed semiconductors.

Location

Chemnitz University of Technology, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Institute of Physics, Chemnitz, Germany.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • A doctoral degree in Physics, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • Essential experience in working with glove boxes, thin-film deposition, and fabrication and characterization of optoelectronic devices (LEDs, solar cells, transistors, etc.).
  • Desirable experience with solution-processed semiconductors including metal halide perovskites, colloidal nanocrystals, or organic semiconductors.
  • Strong understanding of optoelectronic device physics.
  • Experience in programming and data visualization using Python is highly advantageous.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English; willingness to collaborate with international partners.

Job Description

  • Set up a pipeline for the fabrication of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) using spin-coating and thermal evaporation processes under inert atmosphere.
  • Fabricate and test LEDs based on novel emitter materials, developing models for device operation mechanisms.
  • Act as the device manager for an angle-dependent photo-/electroluminescence setup.
  • Collaborate closely with team members focused on the synthesis of novel semiconductors and the study of their photophysical properties.
  • Actively participate in the group’s outreach projects and activities.
