Postdoctoral Position in Behavioral Neurophysiology: We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher with expertise in behavioral neurophysiology to join the Neural Circuits of Associative Learning team at Neurocentre Magendie, University of Bordeaux. This 2-year renewable position will involve cutting-edge research in the field of neuroscience, focusing on the neural circuits of emotion and behavior.
Designation: Postdoctoral Researcher
Research Area: Behavioral Neurophysiology
Location: Neurocentre Magendie, University of Bordeaux, Bordeaux, France
Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD or MD in neuroscience, biophysics, engineering, medicine, or related fields
- Previous experience in in vivo recordings and data analysis
- Programming skills are a plus
- A strong interest in understanding the brain and neural mechanisms underlying behavior
Job Description: The postdoctoral fellow will participate in an ongoing project on amygdalar interneurons, with flexibility for developing a specific project within this scope. Our team, led by Dr. Cyril Herry, combines international, inclusive, and supportive working conditions, promoting both team spirit and individual career growth. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic environment and have opportunities for regular one-to-one meetings, weekly lab meetings, and workshops.
Our overarching goal is to understand neural circuit mechanisms that regulate emotions, motivation, and behavior in both healthy and diseased states. The lab employs diverse, advanced methodologies, including high-density electrophysiology, miniscope recordings, optogenetics, chemogenetics, pharmacological manipulations, and advanced data analysis, with ongoing projects on anxiety mechanisms, emotion generalization, goal-directed behavior, and addiction.
