Postdoctoral Research Associate (Bioinformatician): The University of Oxford is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate in Bioinformatics to join the Ineos Oxford Institute for antimicrobial research (IOI). This position will focus on the Digital Microbiology and Evolution research programme and contribute to understanding the epidemiology and evolution of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) through advanced genome analysis.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • PhD/DPhil in a relevant subject (e.g., microbiology, bioinformatics, genomics)
  • Experience in bioinformatics and genome analysis
  • Strong interest in genomics and bioinformatics
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills

Job Description

The successful candidate will:

  • Develop and apply genome analysis pipelines to identify antimicrobial resistance genes
  • Conduct database-driven analyses and quantitative comparative genomics
  • Collaborate closely with researchers in the IOI Digital Microbiology and Evolution research programme
  • Contribute to publication writing and presentation of research findings
