Eligibility/Qualification:

  • A Ph.D. degree in science, engineering, or economics (must have been awarded by the agreed-upon starting date).
  • Prior research experience in energy system/market modeling and/or electrolysis-based plant modeling, techno-economic assessment, and heat management.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English (Dutch not required).
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • A result-oriented attitude.
  • Preferred: Programming experience in Julia, Python, or similar languages; experience with process modeling tools like Aspen Plus or gPROMS.

Job Description:

As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will be:

  • Developing state-of-the-art optimization models to enhance the operational and design decision-making processes for electrolyzer plants.
  • Analyzing the technical limitations, costs, and interactions of electrolyzer plants with electricity and ancillary services markets.
  • Conducting research that aligns with the project’s goal to lower the costs and improve the efficiency of green hydrogen production.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team composed of academic researchers and industry partners.
  • Engaging in the dynamic operation of electrolyzer plants in conjunction with renewable electricity production.
