The position is a 2-year postdoc role focused on fossil insects, plants, insect-plant interactions, or related topics within evolutionary research.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in Paleontology or a related field, obtained in 2023 or 2024.
- PhD must be awarded from an institution outside the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC).
- Proven track record of scientific contributions following DORA criteria.
- Proficiency in written and oral English.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, combined with the ability to work independently in a goal-oriented manner.
- Valuable: Mathematical and analytical skills, experience with Bayesian multivariate birth-death (MBD) models, or expertise in 3D fossil reconstructions.
Job Description:
The selected candidate will work collaboratively within the research lines of IBB, contributing to topics such as the evolution of insect-plant interactions, fossil analysis, or amber studies. The position is funded by a public program offered by the Spanish Government and includes opportunities to align the research focus with the candidate’s interests, within the scope of the laboratory’s projects.

The IBB is internationally renowned for its interdisciplinary research in botany and entomology, offering a collaborative environment for studying plant-insect relationships. The postdoc will be employed by the CSIC, Spain’s largest public research institution and a prominent European research center.
Salary: Approx. 29,000 €/year gross
