Program Title: The Functional Role of Copper Storage Proteins in Pathogenic Bacteria
The study explores copper storage proteins (Csps) in Neisseria gonorrhoeae and Salmonella sp., with aims to biochemically, biophysically, and structurally characterize their roles in copper homeostasis, bacterial physiology, and infection.
Scholarship Description
The successful candidate will:
- Characterize bacterial copper storage proteins.
- Gain expertise in cutting-edge techniques like X-ray crystallography, NMR, and mass spectrometry.
- Work with global experts in biochemistry, microbiology, and structural biology.
- Collaborate on phenotypic and multi-omic analyses to understand Csp functions during infection.
The program offers opportunities to present research at international conferences and gain hands-on experience in world-renowned laboratories.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Hold a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in exact, natural, or medical sciences. Candidates graduating by March 1, 2025, are also eligible.
