Postdoctoral Fellow in Cancer Inequities: The European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI) is seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual for the position of Postdoctoral Fellow in Cancer Inequities within the Cortés-Ciriano Group. The ideal candidate will contribute to innovative research aimed at understanding cancer inequities through the analysis of high-throughput sequencing data.

Eligibility/Qualification
- PhD degree in life sciences (preferably in computational biology, genomics, statistics, or a similar discipline).
- Strong analytical and programming skills (preferably in Python and R).
- Proven experience in computational genomics (ideally in cancer genomics) evidenced by a record of publications.
- Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English.
- Experience in Unix-based environments and high-performance computing.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
Desired Skills
- Experience in long-read sequencing data analysis is desired but not mandatory.
- Data science skills, particularly in the visualization of complex datasets.
Job Description
As a Postdoctoral Fellow, you will:
- Lead the development of scalable computational solutions for sequencing data analysis with a focus on methods applicable in limited-resource settings.
- Analyze a unique collection of thousands of whole-genome sequencing datasets from breast, pancreatic, and prostate tumors.
- Integrate social determinants of health, exposomics, germline genetics, tumor genomics, and immune profiling data to explore factors contributing to cancer inequities in underserved populations of African descent.
- Engage with national and international collaborators within the SAMBAI Cancer Grand Challenges team.
