Research Area
The research aims to address the performance challenges of industrial gearboxes due to variations caused by manufacturing differences, assembly inconsistencies, and fluctuating operating conditions. The project will focus on the development of a computationally efficient TEHL solver for lubricated gear contacts.
Eligibility/Qualification
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Strong background in Solid and/or Fluid Mechanics.
- Familiarity with discretization techniques (FDM, FEM); knowledge of Meshless methods is a plus.
- Proficiency in C/C++ and Python programming.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills in English; knowledge of Dutch is an asset.
- Ability to start within 6 months.

As a PhD candidate, you will lead the development of advanced simulation tools for analyzing lubricated contacts in gear systems.
