Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD (or evidence of completion in the near future) in Physics, Photonics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven track record in one or more of the following areas:
    • PIC Design
    • PIC Simulation
    • PIC Fabrication
    • PIC Characterization
    • PIC Packaging
  • Experience in integrated quantum photonics is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and manage research projects.
  • Internationally-recognized PhD-equivalent degree is preferred.

Job Description:
The selected candidates will work on cutting-edge projects involving the design, simulation, characterization, and packaging of photonic integrated circuits (PICs). Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing next-generation PIC technologies for applications such as quantum communication, sensing, and metrology.
  • Contributing to European projects related to classical and quantum photonics.
  • Engaging in both applied and fundamental research bridging academia and industry.
  • Developing on-chip quantum key distribution transmitters, entangled pair sources, and single photon sources.
  • Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and involvement in various international projects.
