Eligibility/Qualification

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in physics, chemistry, or materials science.
  • Strong interest and skills in computational modeling and electronic structure calculations.
  • Proficiency in density functional theory (DFT) and molecular dynamics tools such as VASP and CP2K.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Job Description
The PhD student will:

  • Investigate polarons, defects, and interfaces in semiconductor materials for solar cell and LED applications.
  • Perform advanced calculations using DFT and molecular dynamics methods.
  • Incorporate machine learning techniques into the research.
  • Collaborate with experimental groups locally and internationally.
  • Present findings at conferences and publish in scientific journals.
  • Contribute to equality and diversity initiatives at Chalmers.
