Postdoctoral in Structural Materials Chemistry: Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position in the Department of Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry Laboratory at the University of Oxford. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Professor Andrew Goodwin on a project involving the synthesis and crystallographic characterization of Truchet-tile framework materials, funded by the UKRI.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Applicants must hold a PhD in Chemistry or a relevant subject area, or be close to completion, prior to taking up the appointment.
  • The research requires experience in structural chemistry, including the synthesis of framework materials (e.g., MOFs, cyanides) and the use of single-crystal and powder diffraction methods for characterizing their structures.

Job Description:

  • Conduct independent research on the synthesis and characterization of Truchet-tile framework materials.
  • Manage your own academic research and administrative activities, including small-scale project management to coordinate multiple aspects of work and meet deadlines.
  • Collaborate with the research group led by Professor Andrew Goodwin.
