Research Associate in PEDOT:PSS Microelectrodes: The University of Cambridge is seeking a dedicated Research Associate to join the Bioelectronics Laboratory in the Department of Engineering. This fixed-term role focuses on supporting and extending research in implantable electrophysiology devices. Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in Neuroscience or a related discipline
  • Extensive experience in rodent brain electrophysiology, including surgery and data acquisition/analysis
  • Histology experience is preferred

Job Description:

The Research Associate will be responsible for:

  1. Research and Scholarship:
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and translate novel implantable devices.
  • Lead technology validation in rodent models, including performing surgeries for implant placement and acquiring and analyzing electrophysiology data.
  • Document research findings for presentation and publication.
  • Keep abreast of developments in the field.
  1. Teaching and Learning Support:
  • Assist in supervising undergraduate and graduate projects related to Neurotechnology.
  1. Liaison and Networking:
  • Build internal and external contacts to facilitate information exchange and future collaborations.
  1. Planning and Organizing:
  • Plan and manage own research activities in coordination with others.
  • Contribute to the planning of joint research projects led by the Principal Investigator.
  • Assist in preparing reports for funding bodies.
