The successful candidate will work in a dynamic environment to explore chiral amplification and self-replication through innovative research methodologies.
Designation:
Postdoc Researcher
Research Area:
Asymmetric Catalysis, Stereochemistry, Supramolecular Chemistry
Location:
University of Groningen, Netherlands
Eligibility/Qualifications:
- A PhD degree in Chemistry.
- Solid knowledge and demonstrated skills in synthetic organic chemistry; expertise in stereochemistry and asymmetric catalysis is strongly recommended.
- A proven publication record in international, peer-reviewed journals, preferably in top-tier outlets.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Experience supervising BSc/MSc/PhD students is an advantage.
- High degree of independence and the ability to drive research forward.
- Proactive and motivated approach to identifying research opportunities and contributing to the success of the project and team.
Job Description:
The postdoc will focus on:
- Investigating asymmetric autocatalysis to induce chiral amplification and self-replication through condensation reactions and supramolecular assembly.
- Exploring asymmetric autocatalysis using simple cyclic and acyclic acceptor molecules and amine donors, contributing to the synthesis of amino acids.
- Collaborating with two PhD students working on related topics within the dynamic research framework of the Feringa group.
How to Apply:
