Research Area

Thermodynamic-inspired computing with a focus on oscillatory neural networks (ONNs) and their application in combinatorial optimization.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • PhD in Physics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.
  • Strong background in statistical physics, non-equilibrium thermodynamics, and machine learning.
  • Proficiency in Python and/or C++.
  • Experience with Hopfield neural networks and energy-based models.
  • Familiarity with numerical methods and AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in diverse teams.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop algorithms for ONN thermodynamic-inspired computing.
  • Benchmark complex combinatorial optimization problems using different datasets.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team on accelerator hardware development.
  • Mentor junior team members.

Additional Skills

  • Familiarity with complex dynamical systems and mathematical methods (e.g., Lyapunov exponents, bifurcation theory).
  • Strong leadership qualities and ability to establish a novel interdisciplinary field.
