Eligibility/Qualification:
- Essential Criteria:
- A PhD (or equivalent experience) in a relevant area (e.g., theoretical physics, applied mathematics, computational biology).
- Experience in both analytical and computational methods.
- Strong ability to manage complex experimental analyses and critically appraise data.
- Evidence of effective time management and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Exceptional attention to detail and record-keeping skills.
- Competent in presenting results and preparing scientific publications.
- Desirable Criteria:
- Experience collaborating with biologists and/or in clinical sciences.
- Previous research experience in biophysics.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will join Professor Simon Johnston’s multidisciplinary research team, focusing on the biophysics of host-pathogen interactions, particularly how macrophages interact with the fungal pathogen Cryptococcus. Responsibilities include:
- Employing analytical and computational methods to study immune responses.
- Collaborating across diverse research areas, including in vivo and cell models.
- Leading data analyses and contributing to research publications.
- Presenting findings at seminars and conferences.
- Sustaining accurate documentation of research activities and findings.
