Eligibility / Qualification

  • Doctoral Degree: Must possess a PhD in material science or a closely related field, preferably with specialization in thin films, awarded no later than the point of employment decision.
  • Experience:
  • High-level knowledge in vacuum-based thin film synthesis, specifically magnetron sputtering.
  • Familiarity with physical metallurgy, including phase diagrams, phase transitions, and atomic diffusion.
  • Significant experience with material characterization techniques such as XRD, XPS, AFM, SEM, FiB, and TEM.
  • Skills:
  • Excellent analytical and writing skills evidenced by publications in international peer-reviewed journals.
  • Strong motivation, problem-solving capabilities, and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken).

Job Description

  • Conduct fundamental research on thin film deposition processes to create ultra-thin (two-dimensional) layers of noble metals (goldene, iridiumene, platinumene).
  • Publish findings in scientific journals and present research at international conferences.
  • Engage in teaching activities, which may constitute up to 20% of the working hours.
