Eligibility/Qualification
- Essential:
- PhD (or equivalent experience) in a relevant subject area such as biomaterials.
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant materials or biomedical discipline.
- Proven ability to conduct independent research with evidence of outputs (publications, presentations).
- Technical expertise in culture of primary human mammalian cells and tissues.
- Desirable:
- Experience in microbial culture and antimicrobial assay design.
- Engagement with medical device stakeholders.
Job Description
The successful candidates will undertake the following responsibilities:
- Conduct research aligned with project objectives.
- Maintain and culture bacterial isolates; conduct antimicrobial assays.
- Engage with Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) groups to ensure clinical relevance.
- Maintain accurate research records and adhere to Health & Safety policies.
- Prepare presentations for internal and external audiences, contribute to manuscripts and funding applications.
- Support the wider research group, assisting students and other postdoctoral researchers.
