About- Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT) Surat is established by the Government of India by an Act of Parliament, offering undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), and doctoral programs in engineering, technology, and the sciences.

Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT), Surat, an Institute of National Importance, invites applications from eligible Indian nationals for faculty positions. The institute is seeking candidates who possess excellent academic records, a strong commitment to quality teaching and research, and a propensity for institutional development.

Designations & Pay Scale:

Associate Professor: Pay Level 13A2 (₹139,600/- to ₹211,300/- pm)
Assistant Professor Grade-I: Pay Level 12 (₹101,500/- to ₹167,400/- pm)

Research Area (Departments): Vacancies are open across multiple departments, including Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Humanities and Social Sciences, Mathematics & Humanities, and Civil Engineering.

Location: Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, Ichchhanath, Dumas Road, Surat – 395 007, Gujarat.

Eligibility/Qualification:

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in the relevant discipline.
Applicants must have secured a “first class” in all preceding degrees from the Bachelor’s Degree onwards.
If a first class is not explicitly mentioned on the degree certificate, candidates must have passed with at least a 6.5 CGPA (on a 10-point scale) or 60% marks in aggregate.

Job Description: Faculty members are expected to contribute significantly to the institute through quality teaching, rigorous academic research, and overall institutional development.

Assistant Professor Grade-I: Online submission closes on 30.11.2026 at 5:00 p.m., and the hard copy must be received by 07.12.2026.
Associate Professor: Online submission closes on 01.12.2026 at 5:00 p.m., and the hard copy must be received by 08.12.2026 at 5:00 p.m..
