Job Description
The successful candidate will:
- Conduct computational (meta)genome mining analyses of biosynthetic gene clusters.
- Develop or improve existing computational tools and strategies for genome mining.
- Collaborate with international partners across a European consortium.
- Work within the Bioinformatics chair group at Wageningen University.
Responsibilities
- Mining and analyzing microbiomes for biosynthetic pathways related to antimicrobials, antioxidants, and other bioactive compounds.
- Implementation of algorithms to predict structures and functions of metabolites and their ecological roles.
- Engage in collaborative research efforts with colleagues in the Bioinformatics chair group and partner institutions.
