Eligibility/Qualification
- First degree in a relevant field (biological, biomedical, biotechnology, molecular biology)
- MSc degree or equivalent experience in Immunology or a related field
- Experience in performing molecular biology and immunological assays
- Understanding of the Human Tissue Act and working to GCP standards
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High-level analytical capability and inquisitive mind
- Willingness to travel for secondments
Description
The chosen candidate will engage in a translational research project that investigates the interplay between microbiome changes and immune ageing, focusing on potential microbiome-based nutraceutical therapies. Responsibilities include:
- Collaborating on research projects and funding bids
- Analyzing and interpreting research results
- Engaging in public outreach and training activities
- Contributing towards sustainability goals and departmental research activities
- Providing mentorship to students and junior staff
This position is part of the UNION Doctoral Network, providing opportunities for international travel and collaborative work with partner labs.
