Eligibility/Qualification

Candidates must possess or be close to completing a Master’s degree in Epidemiology, Drug Innovation, Pharmacy, or a closely related field in biomedical sciences. Additionally, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Strong interest in pharmacoepidemiology and regulatory science
  • Ability to learn quantitative and qualitative methods
  • Excellent command of English (verbal and written)
  • Good scientific writing and presentation skills
  • Independent and self-reflective working abilities
  • Knowledge of (pharmaco-)epidemiologic methods, including cohort and case-control designs
  • Experience in working with big data in healthcare, such as electronic medical records or registry data
  • Familiarity with conducting qualitative research or policy analysis
  • Programming skills in platforms such as SAS or R
  • Affinity with teaching and basic project management skills

Job Description

The PhD candidate will:

  • Lead scientific conduct of several RWD studies, employing mixed-methods approaches including systematic reviews, cohort analysis, and qualitative research.
  • Conduct literature reviews and write protocols.
  • Analyze data, visualize findings, and write results.
  • Engage in pharmaceutical policy analysis through document reviews and qualitative interviews.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to BSc and MSc course teaching for up to 10% of the time.
