Job Description

The PhD student will join an international team working on the project titled:
“Restoration of excitation/inhibition balance to modulate motoneuron degeneration in ALS.”

Key tasks and tools include:

  • Studying synaptic mechanisms underlying motoneuron vulnerability in ALS
  • Use of ALS mouse models and human spinal cord samples
  • Application of advanced techniques including viral vectors, chemogenetics, nanobodies, and spinal cord surgery
  • Collaborating with the Zytnicki lab on in vivo electrophysiology

The Roselli Lab is part of both the Department of Neurology at Ulm University and the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE), with extensive international collaboration and cutting-edge research infrastructure.
