JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship 2026/2027: The JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship offers a fully funded opportunity for pre- and post-doctoral researchers to conduct research in Japan. Eligibility/Qualification

  • You must find a host researcher in Japan who will support your application.

Job Description

  • Conduct independent research under the guidance of a host researcher in Japan.
  • Collaborate with Japanese academics to gain global exposure and advance your research.
  • Utilize Japan’s advanced research facilities and build a professional network.

How to Apply

  1. Identify a host researcher in Japan willing to support your application. JSPS does not assist in finding a host.
  2. Submit your application through the ASEAN University Network (AUN) website.
  3. Your application will be reviewed by your country’s nominating authority.
  4. If selected, your details will be sent to JSPS by December 1, 2025.
  5. The final selection results will be communicated about three months later.

Required Documents

  • Academic Documents (Transcripts and Ph.D. diploma/certificate or confirmation of enrollment).
  • Recommendation Letter from your current institution.
  • Letter from your Host Researcher in Japan.
  • Research Plan (2 pages).
  • List of Publications (if applicable).
