Graduate Teaching & Research Assistant: The University of Antwerp is inviting applications for the position of Graduate Teaching & Research Assistant in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. This full-time role offers the opportunity to pursue a PhD while contributing to teaching and ongoing research in medicinal chemistry and chemical biology, particularly focusing on inhaled ferroptosis inhibitors for lung infections.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Bio-Engineering, or Chemical Engineering (to be obtained by the start date).

Job Description

As a Graduate Teaching & Research Assistant, you will be engaged in the following activities:

PhD Research

  • Actively work on preparing and defending a PhD thesis focused on developing inhaled therapeutics.
  • Organize your own PhD research and report progress regularly.
  • Participate in the doctoral study programme at the Antwerp Doctoral School.
  • Present findings at academic conferences and publish in scientific journals.

Education

  • Support and teach high-quality academic classes in Bachelor and Master courses in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
  • Assist in developing teaching materials and evaluations.
  • Supervise Bachelor and Master dissertations.

Research

  • Assist in ongoing research projects within the Medicinal Chemistry group.

Services

  • Participate in academic and societal service activities for the Department.
