Eligibility/Qualification

  • General Requirements:
  • A second-cycle qualification or
  • At least 240 credits with at least 60 credits at the second cycle level, or
  • Equivalent knowledge from a recognized institution.
  • Specific Requirements:
  • Minimum 30 second-cycle credits in Chemical or Environmental Engineering.
  • Additional Requirements:
  • Proficient in English (oral and written).
  • Proficient in Swedish (oral and written).
  • Valid driving license.

Job Description

The doctoral student will undertake the following responsibilities:

  • Conduct literature reviews on relevant research topics and present findings in reports/articles.
  • Perform laboratory work including water analysis.
  • Monitor and optimize membrane process performance.
  • Develop sustainable cleaning protocols for membrane systems.
  • Assess pre- and post-treatment options to meet water standards.
  • Conduct techno-economical analyses supported by lab to pilot scale experiments.
  • Report and communicate regularly with project partners, particularly Sweden Water Research.

Participation in research projects and teaching (up to 10% of working time) is also expected.
