Eligibility/Qualification–
| Required Qualification* | Ph.D. or equivalent in Electronics/Physics/Materials Science/Materials Engineering/Materials Science and Engineering discipline with a very good academic record throughout. OR M.Tech./M.S. or equivalent qualification in Electronics/Physics/Materials Science/Materials Engineering/Materials Science and Engineering discipline with a minimum of 02 years of post-qualification experience in Teaching/Research/Industrial/Design in an organization/Industry of repute. The percentage/grade points with respect to the academic qualification will be a minimum 60% or equivalent grade from graduation onwards and 55% or equivalent grade in class 10th and 12th. | |
| Key Responsibilities | Develop and optimize magnetron-sputtering processes for the deposition of high-quality semiconductor thin films, particularly VO₂. Measurement and optimization of residual gas for process optimization in key semiconducting materials using residual gas analyzer. Develop and execute cleanroom process flows for VO2-based devices, covering photolithography, sputtering, ICP-RIE dry etching. Carry out detailed microstructural characterizations using XRD, AFM, XPS, SEM/TEM and ellipsometry to qualify VO2 based devices. Perform electrical characterisation of fabricated devices, including I-V, C-V, and Hall. Correlate electrical performance with material composition, microstructure, interface quality and fabrication-process parameters. Establish and maintain process recipes, equipment-calibration records, experimental datasets and device-design databases. Prepare technical reports, standard operating procedures, research manuscripts and project documentation. | |
| Essential Skills | Strong fundamentals in semiconductor physics, microstructure, and carrier transport. Hands-on experience with sputter deposition tool. Practical experience in carrying out various microstructure investigation using XRD, AFM, XPS, SEM/TEM and ellipsometry. Working knowledge of semiconductor electrical characterization and the use of probe stations. Proficiency in Python or MATLAB for data analysis, measurement automation and post-processing of simulation results. Strong technical documentation, communication, problem-solving and project-ownership skills, together with the ability to work safely and methodically in a shared cleanroom environment. | |
| Desirable Skills | Prior experience with semiconductors such as VO2, NbN, AlN, TiO2, ZnO, in either simulation or fabrication. Familiarity with sputter deposition tool, and ICP-RIE etch chemistries. Practical hand on experience with XRD, AFM, XPS, SEM/TEM and ellipsometry A record of peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations or patents, or independent execution of a device fabrication or simulation project. | |
