Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Master’s degree in Agricultural Sciences, Biology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, or a closely related field.
  • Proficient in English (written and spoken).
  • An independent, solution-oriented work ethic.
  • Interdisciplinary mindset and enthusiasm for teamwork.
  • Experience in plant work (preferably with rice or maize) and plant-microbe interactions is desirable.

Job Description:

  • Investigate genetic mechanisms in plants that coordinate mycorrhizal interactions, phosphorus uptake, root system development, and soil microbial communities.
  • Utilize maize and rice to determine the influence of plant phosphorus sensing and signaling on mycorrhizal colonization.
  • Assess the role of root traits, mycorrhizae, and rhizosphere processes for phosphorus efficiency under water stress.
  • Validate findings in field conditions to create frameworks for optimizing plant-mycorrhizal partnerships, enhancing food sustainability.
