PhD and Integrated PhD Positions: The Computational Chemistry Laboratory at Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST), led by Professor Jun-Ho Choi, is inviting applications for PhD and Integrated PhD positions. The lab focuses on advanced research in computational chemistry, specifically quantum mechanical (QM) calculations and molecular dynamics (MD) simulations. Highly motivated and qualified candidates are encouraged to apply and contribute to exciting research projects in this field.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • A PhD in chemistry, chemical physics, or a closely related field.
  • Strong expertise in QM calculations and MD simulations.
  • Previous experience in molecular aggregation studies and water-related systems will be a plus.

Job Description

The successful candidate will conduct cutting-edge research on molecular aggregation behavior and its impact on water structure and dynamics in aqueous solutions. This research will involve performing computational studies on molecular aggregation phenomena and exploring solvation dynamics. Independent research, innovative thinking, and active contribution to the lab’s ongoing projects are key responsibilities.
