Eligibility/Qualification

Must-Have:

  • MSc or equivalent degree in biochemistry, structural biology, or related fields
  • Practical experience in wet lab focusing on translation (ribosome purification, assembly, etc.)
  • Theoretical knowledge of single-particle cryo-electron microscopy
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written)

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience in cryo-electron microscopy and data analysis
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Motivation and a collaborative mindset

Job Description

The successful candidate will work under Gabriel Demo’s Research Group to investigate the molecular mechanisms behind ribosome maturation in bacteria and the regulation of translation in archaea under stress-induced conditions. Utilizing cutting-edge single-particle cryo-electron microscopy, the research will provide insights into ribosomal assembly intermediates and translation factors, contributing to the understanding of cellular adaptation strategies.
