Research Area
The research will focus on:
- Isolation and genomic analysis of large DNA viruses
- Cultivation of diverse hosts
- Analysis of evolutionary relationships and genomic repertoires of different viral groups
- Development of bioinformatic methods for genomic and evolutionary analyses
Eligibility/Qualification
Required Qualifications
- PhD in relevant field (microbiology, genomics, etc.)
- Knowledge of virology, particularly giant viruses
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with cultures of bacteria/algae/viruses
- Proficiency in a coding language (preferably Python or R) and working with bioinformatic workflows
