Summary
The University of Oldenburg is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Institute for Chemistry and Biology of the Marine Environment (ICBM). This position is part of the collaborative MAlSyB project, focusing on the systems biology of the marine dinoflagellate Prorocentrum cordatum to understand its adaptation strategies and physiological performance in the context of climate change.

Eligibility/Qualification
- Qualifying academic university degree (Master or Diploma) and a PhD in microbiology, cell biology, proteomics, or a related field.
- Essential: Relevant research experience.
- Desirable: Knowledge in general physiology and experience in OMICS methods and image analysis.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Strong interest in multidisciplinary teamwork.
Job Description
The successful candidate will investigate how changing nutrient regimes influence the physiological performance of Prorocentrum cordatum. Key tasks include:
- Conducting tailored cultivations of the microalga.
- Studying cell biological dynamics using FIB/SEM.
- Analyzing modulations of the photosynthetic apparatus’s protein complexes (BN-PAGE coupled to mass spectrometry).
- Integrating findings with proteomic data for the respiratory apparatus and global systems biology-level data from the MAlSyB consortium.
- Actively participating and integrating within the MAlSyB consortium.
