Project Scientist at Panjab University: The Department of Environment Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh invites applications from eligible candidates for temporary posts in the Research Project entitled “Economic Analysis of Air Pollution Mitigation Strategies in India.” The posts are purely contractual and co-terminus with the project duration.

  • First Class Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG degrees, with three years Experience or PhD.
  • Second Class Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG degrees, with PhD and three years Experience,
  • For Engineering/IT/CS- First Class Graduate Degree of Four Years with three years Experience

Applications are invited for the appointment of Project Research Scientist-II (Non-Medical) -01 in ICMR funded project entitled “Tele-Health Screening and Management for Non-Communicable Diseases” for a period of 1 year OR coterminous with project depending upon the satisfactory performance of the candidate at University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), Sector-25, Panjab University, Chandigarh.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to project research objectives within and outside the institute.
  • Writing or contributing to publications or dissemination research finding using media appropriate to the discipline.
  • Make presentations at conferences or exhibit work at other appropriate events.
  • Develop new concepts and ideas to extend intellectual understanding.
  • Contribute to knowledge generation, knowledge exchange and knowledge transfer activities.
  • Mentor colleagues with less experience and advice on professional development.
  • Supervise the work of others, for example in research teams or projects.
  • Plan coordinate and implement research program including:
  • Managing the use of research resources and ensuring effective use is made of them.
  • Helping to plan and implement commercial and consultancy activities.
  • Planning and managing project activities.
  • Securing sufficient pertinent funding to supplement extant finances.
  • Focused working and high quality outcome is expected from the selected candidates.
  • Project may also involve frequent field travel to different states of India for project implementation. 

The incumbent is expected to work on Saturdays/Sundays and maybe on holidays also for any project exigency. Date, time and venue of the interview will be conveyed to the eligible/ shortlisted candidates through email or phone. No separate call letters will be issued for the interview. No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates for attending the interview.
