About- The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is inviting applications for a project appointment on a contractual basis. The appointment will be renewable yearly or until the duration of the project, whichever is earlier. Candidates of Indian nationality are invited to appear for a walk-in test/interview for this project appointment under the “Pre-compliance and Clinical Validation of Implantable and Diagnostic Devices” project.

Eligibility/Qualification–
Candidates should possess:
- A Ph.D. in Optics, Interferometry, Holography, Optical Imaging, or a closely related field.
- At least one year of experience in Laser Doppler Velocimetry (LDV) for shock-wave velocity determination.
- Experience in handling and operating:
- Ultra-high-speed framing cameras
- High-speed electronic streak cameras
- Velocity interferometers
A 5% relaxation in marks may be granted to SC/ST candidates, as per the applicable rules.

Designation
Project Scientist – III
The selected Project Scientist will contribute to research activities involving advanced optical measurement and high-speed diagnostic techniques. The role is expected to involve:
- Performing Laser Doppler Velocimetry measurements for shock-wave velocity determination.
- Operating and handling ultra-high-speed framing cameras.
- Operating high-speed electronic streak cameras.
- Working with velocity interferometer systems.
- Conducting optical imaging and interferometric experiments.
- Supporting experimental research activities associated with the sponsored project.
- Analyzing and interpreting high-speed optical diagnostic data.
- Contributing to project-related research, documentation, and technical activities.
Salary & Tenure
The selected candidate will receive ₹78,000 per month plus HRA at 30%.
The appointment will be on a contractual basis, renewable yearly or until the completion of the project, whichever is earlier.
In the case of selection of a retired/superannuated government employee, salary will be fixed according to prevailing IIT Delhi IRD norms.
